Meet taysha

Hi, I'm LaTaysha Q. Hilson, Founder and Chair of Still Here: Metastatic Breast Cancer Foundation.

My journey with breast cancer began in 2011 when I was diagnosed with Stage I breast cancer and underwent a left mastectomy followed by five years of treatment. On February 14, 2023, my life changed again when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Since then, I have faced numerous challenges, including cancer spreading to my bones, lungs, lymph nodes, and later to my brain. Despite these obstacles, I have chosen to live with purpose, faith, and determination.

I founded Still Here: Metastatic Breast Cancer Foundation because I know firsthand the importance of having support, resources, and hope while navigating a metastatic diagnosis. My mission is to ensure that others living with metastatic breast cancer feel seen, heard, and empowered. Through education, advocacy, and community outreach, I am committed to helping individuals and families find strength and support throughout their journey.

I am still here and my purpose is to remind others that they are not alone.

About Us

Still Here: Metastatic Breast Cancer Foundation was founded from a deeply personal journey of resilience, hope, and determination. As a foundation created by a metastatic breast cancer thriver, we understand the physical, emotional, and financial challenges that come with living with Stage IV breast cancer.

Our organization exists to ensure that no one facing metastatic breast cancer feels alone. We are dedicated to creating a supportive community that empowers patients and their families through education, advocacy, meaningful connections, and access to resources.

We believe that every person living with metastatic breast cancer deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. Through awareness initiatives, outreach programs, and compassionate care, we strive to bring hope and help to those navigating this lifelong diagnosis. Because while the diagnosis may change life, it does not define it. We are still here living, loving, advocating, and making a difference.
